Seventh Annual Media Research Conference 2016


‘Media Research Conference’ has been an annual event of Martin Chautari since 2010. The aim of this conference is to augment critical and interdisciplinary discussion on various aspects of Nepali Media. The seventh edition, which is going to be held on 20th March 2016 in Kathmandu, broadly focuses on application and use of IT. Altogether six research papers will be presented during this conference (see the program schedule below for details). The conference will also have a panel discussion on ‘Is IT education producing graduates ready for local development and global competence?’ This session will discuss about (a) globally competent IT curriculum and pedagogy appropriate for Nepal; and (b) skills demanded (from the graduates) by the present/future IT industry of Nepal.

Participation is free and open to all but those interested should register their names at the reception desk of Martin Chautari by 17 March 2016 (2072 Chait 4). Only 25 seats are available, out of which 10 seats are reserved for female participants. Participants will be selected on first come first serve basis.
